Recently, Vietnam has signed many free trade agreements such as EVFTA or CPTPP and enjoyed many tax incentives for goods originating from Vietnam. However, only goods identified as originating from Vietnam will be eligible for incentives.
Besides, Vietnam is gradually becoming a transit point for goods of neighboring countries taxed anti dumping or safeguard before exporting to the main market and making Vietnam related to lawsuit against tax evasion.
It is because of these reasons that the Government of Vietnam has paid attention, more interested in controlling the origin of goods.
In the last 3 months, the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) continuously sent the documents to the General Department of Market Management regarding the C/O fraudulent suspicion, counterfeiting C/O. Through the inspection, the case was discovered by the customs authorities of the importing country, there were 3 cases of enterprises falsifying the first joint of C/O (3 joints), done through a specialized service company do C/O. This has caused much concern for the government.
